Psychological Approaches to Therapy and Behaviour Change

I offer a variety of interventions which are tailored to meet the specific needs of individual clients, couples, families, groups, professionals, teams and organisations.  I am trained and experienced in, and have been influenced by many different psychological approaches, which include cognitive behavioural psychology, motivational interviewing, psychodynamic therapy, systemic psychotherapy, mindfulness, neurolinguistic programming and narrative therapy.  Core to my approach to working with my clients is the belief that people do essentially have the ability to address the challenges in their lives, but self-doubts and fears may get in the way of recognising this.  My role is to support optimism for change and to enhance their ability to become the best versions of themselves, not the versions that others might want them to be.  I believe in a collaborative approach: whilst I am happy to offer advice where necessary, I do not believe in telling or instructing.  The approach I will adopt with you will be tailored to your needs.  Some people benefit from a goal-directed approach, whilst others may prefer a more exploratory approach, allowing them to reflect on issues that have arisen in their lives.  Either way, I will be committed to supporting you along a path of improvement.  Supporting people to have greater self-belief in their own abilities, their own potential to grow and in developing a better future for themselves is my passion.
